Nearly 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the area, producing powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Extensive Destruction
Residents observed giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews activated to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, around one thousand residents in Victoria also faced energy failures after the capital city saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams responded to nearly 600 emergency reports across the state, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential predicted across different parts of both regions.

Medical authorities warned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
